Finishing up 2020 with thoughts to 2021

 The freezing temperatures have begun and the garden bed is ready for its winter sleeping.  I have hundreds of Dahlia tubers tucked away in the barn and was able to save lettuce seed as well as Calendula seed.
I will be making next year's growing plans in a couple months.  If you are interested in having a special planting, be sure to contact me before January. I will need the plant cost as well as labor costs up front, like a CSA only customer specified.
Speaking of CSA, I am thinking about setting up a bouquet, salads, greens and fresh bread subscription.  I expect it to be around $25-$30 per week ($360 season cost)
I will be testing a Home Plate service at the road.  Dinner recipe with a bag full of fresh local ingredients ready for your quick kitchen preparation.
I also have chicken and duck eggs in limited quantities. Want to be a great French chef?  Try duck eggs in your baking.
I planted tulips and peonies and transplanted forsythia and hydrangea. I love Zinna's constant blooms and beautiful colors, but do suffer itching from the stems.  I expect to keep the bed smaller next year.  I am looking forward to cutting cosmos and ranunculus in many colors next year.
The snapping turtles wiped out a considerable part of my planting this spring, including my Bells of Ireland, which I love.  I am believing my little fence will protect the Spring planting on the second time around.
